My plan to be the best rope bunny

I was the rope bottom for someone today. She was practicing hanging transitions. Everything was going well. I was feeling relaxed and was enjoying it. But then I started hanging upside down. It was okay at first, but as I spun around a little bit and transitioned to a position where my head was hanging back without support, I felt nauseous. I had to ask to be let down. After I came down, I noticed that I was sweating a lot from my head, which was weird.
I don’t have much experience being tied up. In fact, this was only the third time tied up by rope, and the second time doing full suspension. It was also the first time I had to ask to come down early. I thought I could handle it. I wanted to be able to handle it. Unfortunately I was not strong enough. No shame, but it was a bummer.
After being untied I looked into why I got nauseous and started sweating so much. Apparently it’s called vertigo, and I can become better at preventing it if I practice being inverted more regularly.
I want to be a better rope bunny. The best. So now, these are the things I am working on:
- Stretching. I go to a deep stretch class a few times a week, and I have also been stretching more regularly throughout the day.
- Diet. I want to become a little lighter for hanging, and also look good while tied up. Because I have been working out, I have been focusing on lowering my body fat % rather than my total weight.
- Working out. I need more muscle in my body, more strength, and build endurance. Works well in conjunction with my diet.
- (New) Inverting practice. A lot of hanging poses have my head down, and especially when I am face up and head is back, it is really hard for me. I will start including some inverting practice into my routine so that I can get used to the blood rushing to my head
- Rigging. I will do some learning on my own to become a rope top. I'm sure there will be things I will learn from seeing things from the opposite perspective. I was finally able to buy some rope today, so it's time to get practicing
That's all I have for now. By training and more practice being tied up, I hope to be a skilled and amazing rope bunny one day. 모두에게 인정받는 그런 버니가 될때까지.
Cover image is of a pin I got recently. It is currently on my backpack, but will probably move to my rope bag once I have that figured out.
